Blade Systems Alliance’s James Hall To Speak At Next Generation Data Center

FRAMINGHAM, MA.June 26, 2007IDG World Expo, the leading producer of tradeshows and events around the globe has announced that James Hall, President of Blade Systems Alliance, will be speaking at the inaugural Next Generation Data Center™ Conference & Expo (NGDC™).  The event, taking place August 6-9, 2007 at the Moscone Center, will focus on new technologies and their impact on the data center, covering mission-critical applications and the technology supporting those applications including power and cooling issues. Hall will be moderating the “EPA Energy Efficiency Study Panel Session” being held Wednesday August 8 from 3 to 4 PM. On the panel will be Pat Lawicki, Andrew Fanara, Peter Panfil, Christian Belady, Kfir Godrich and Bill Tschudi.

 

During the panel session, EPA will present the findings of the recent EPA Study and provide an update on two ENERGY STAR initiatives: a building benchmark for buildings that house datacenters and a technical specification for servers. Panel members will discuss the findings of the EPA Study and ways in which they are contributing to the collective effort to reduce data center energy consumption.

 

Jim Hall is strategic manager for IT markets for Liebert Power and Cooling, Emerson Network Power. He is responsible for developing strategies and driving execution of programs targeted to educating IT managers and executives about power and cooling issues in data centers, computer rooms and other network locations. Hall also serves as the "voice of IT" within the Liebert solutions group and as primary liaison with IT industry associations. He is currently president of Blade Systems Alliance, an industry association focused on accelerating development and adoption of blade server technologies; he also serves on the board of the Central Ohio AFCOM chapter.

Any company not already focused on energy management and conservation will need to start implementing new procedures in 2008,“ said Melinda Kendall, VP and General Manager, Next Generation Data Center. “NGDC’s Advanced Facilities Management and Planning sessions will provide key guidance on maximizing performance while minimizing power.”
